Research

[This course will be launched in Apr. 2025] We aim to elucidate the body control mechanisms that give rise to human-specific movement and behavioural characteristics and their evolutionary origins. Using a comprehensive approach that incorporates kinematic information, neural and biosignal information, morphological information underlying movement, and simulation models generated from these information, we explore the evolution and adaptation of human and primate body movements and their control mechanisms. The evolution and adaptation of upright bipedal locomotion and spoken language, which are the biological definitions of humans, are current central themes.
